The 18th annual Southern California Linux Expo, SCaLE 18X, will take place on March, 5 to 8, 2020, at the Pasadena Convention Center. The Bareos team will be present as well.
SCaLE is the largest community-run Open Source and Free Software conference in North America. SCaLE 18X expects to host 150 exhibitors this year, along with nearly 130 sessions, tutorials, and special events.
Maik Aussendorf (one of Bareos’ managing directors) is giving a talk on “Zero-Knowledge secure and compliant Backups with Bareos Open Source” (Sunday, March 8, 2020, 11:30 to 12:30, room 106). He will first give an overview of Bareos and then explain how to back up sensitive data in the cloud, including seamless transport encryption, encrypting backups on the client (before transport), and hardware encryption inside tape drives.
Bareos is happy to support the event as Silver Sponsor and we’re also part of the exhibition (booth 719, #bareos-development). We have four free tickets to give away. If you’d like to meet us in Pasadena, please get in touch via our website. The free tickets go to the first four people who contact us.
